The total price includes the list price, tax and shipping costs, cash back discount, and coupon savings. So easy!
I already know where I'm shopping... how do I save $? Even for you brand-loyal shoppers, you can save money every time you shop at your favorite stores. Click the Shop By Store button in the top right to get started. First, check for coupons at your favorite store. Next, click through to your favorite store and make a purchase. When you shop online through BeeSavy, you will earn a cash back discount. Your cash back discount will post to your BeeSavy account within 1-4 days. BeeSavy will send you a check or deposit your cash back into your PayPal account once your balance reaches $10. Who doesn't love extra money?

Other BeeSavy benefits for online shoppers:

Trusted retailers only! Unlike other comparison shopping websites, BeeSavy carefully chooses each and every one of its stores to ensure a safe and secure shopping experience. If you ever have a bad experience with a BeeSavy store, please let them know right away.
Feeling generous? Donate your savings to a charity. When you request a cash back payment, BeeSavy gives you the option to donate a portion or all of your cash back to a charity. Just choose a charity and how much you want to donate and they'll take care of the rest!
Love BeeSavy? Tell your friends and get referral cash back forever. Tell a friend about BeeSavy and you will earn a 40% commission on all of their cash back forever. There is no limit to how many friends you can refer! They even pay you a 10% commission on all of their referrals up to seven levels deep! So this could add up quickly for those of you who like sharing a great deal with others.

BeeSavy benefits for online retailers:

It's a win-win-win. With most forms of marketing, online retailers must pay upfront with no guarantee of results; however, with cost-per-sale marketing, online retailers only pay BeeSavy when it generates a sale. Online retailers choose a commission rate that fits within their profit margin, thereby ensuring a positive return on their marketing dollars. By giving most of this commission to the purchasing customer as a cash back rebate, BeeSavy utilizes this online retailer marketing method to save its customers money that traditional comparison shopping websites cannot match (due to their cost-per-click revenue model).

One lucky winner will receive an iPad 3rd Generation, 16GB Unit from BeeSavy!

Get a Breyer's Blast Coupon

Play the quick game and get your $1.50 coupon off the purchase of 2 Breyer's Blasts!!

My Shopping Trip Today!!

I had an amazing savings trip going to all the sotres today. My husband went shopping with me, and normally that tends to be a little stressful. He and I just don't shop the same way. He also loves the fact that I use all the coupons I do, but does not like messing with them at all!! My husband didn't even mind the stares and little grumbles from the other shoppers behind us in the check-out line when they saw how many coupons I had. You know the ones I mean. Sometimes I think their grumbles are more from not getting the same kind of savings themselves than for the "inconvenience" we supposedly cause them in waiting.

We went to four stores in total and we found some great deals. We saved $111.38 in total using coupons. That doesn't even count the store deals we found like buy 3, 12 packs of soda and get a 4th free and others. it was fun seeing the back of the van fill up with all our deals.

This is a picture of just the FREE stuff we got today.

Here's the list for you to see:

72 ct Comforts For Baby wipes
5 Smuckers Uncrustables
2 Honey Bunches of Oats cereal
2 Purex liquid laundry soap
2 Purex Ultra packs
2, 5 oz Ocean Spray Craisins
1 Glad Drawstring Kitchen Trash Bags
2, 20 oz Diet Cokes
2 Pull-Ups Flushable Wipes
25 Snickers candy bars
96 ct Comforts For baby diapers

I love shopping for free and I love saving money. I am so thankful that there are so many generous manufacturers who put out so many wonderful coupons for us to use as well. Now this is not my biggest savings trip, but each big one like this is noteworthy in my book!! And it is even better when your husband can see you save that much money!!

What has been your biggest savings trip?

Product Complaint & Warning!!

I don't do this very often. In fact other than minor complaints or inconveniences I can't remember the last time I was really annoyed and disappointed by a company as a whole. But I am now!!!

Not long ago I ordered from the Ahh Bra company. I found a special offer and had seen their commercials and thought I would try them out for the good price they were offering at the time. I ordered the size they recommended, paid with my debit card and sat back and waited.

The delivery took much longer than they said it would. In fact it took over three weeks from the time I ordered the products (three bras in three different colors) until I received them. When I finally received them I was thrilled. I couldn't wait to try them out, after all the promises on the commercials and in their written ads were amazing and I was hoping for similar, even close results. HA!!!!

First, I have to say that there was a note in the package that said if you were going to return them they had to come back to the company unopened. Hmmm, second bad sign after the long delay in receiving them. How are you supposed to try them on to see if they fit without opening them?

Well I opened a package and was surprised. I expected the fabric to be more substantial. There just was not much to it. All I could think was there was no way this was going to hold me in place!! But try it on I did, umm sort of! The commercial says that the band at the bottom won't roll, it will stay in place. WRONG!! Not only did it roll I could never get it unrolled. Just pulling the thing on over my head caused it to roll and then it just stayed that way. No matter what I did it just rolled and rolled and rolled. I even had my husband help me pull it down where it should belong and then it just slowly rolled back up! UGH!!

Even if it didn't roll the material was jut not going to be comfortable to wear all day. Things I didn't want to really be showing were and I would be very self-conscious about that. Being discreet and modest are important to me!

Well I reluctantly sent them back to the company telling them I would like a refund (minus postage of course and I had to pay return postage). I say reluctantly because I had really wanted them to work. So I waited for them to refund my debit card. I waited and waited and waited.

Guess what was in the mail today? Oh come on guess! The three Ahh Bras I had originally ordered. They sent them back to me with a note that said I had not returned them soon enough to them. Their return policy starts from the day you order them. Huh? Don't most start from the day you GET the product? They even mentioned to me that they returned them to me and would not charge me for the shipping this time. Really???  And it took them almost 2 months to send them back to me! Good grief!!

To say the least I hope none of you try them out. I do not recommend this product at all nor do I recommend the customer service they offer, better yet, don't offer. I think what gets me more is not 3 weeks after I ordered it online it was released for in-store sales. I not only lost the cost of the product, but I lost postage twice over, once to get it the first time and once to send it back.

Buyer beware of the Ahh Bra!!!

Summer Blog Challenge ~ Day 26

Day 26 ~ What does your significant other do that makes your heart melt?

He does a lot of things that make my heart melt, but I am not gonna share all of them. The best thing he does is just love me unconditionally! Seriously, knowing he loves me with all my quirks, when I am grumpy and when I do stupid things and does not expect anything for himself means the world to me. But he shows that to me in countless ways and that is the proverbial cherry on the top!! He doesn't just love me unconditionally, he shows me he loves me unconditionally!! He is such a sweetheart!!

Summer Blog Challenge ~ Days 24 & 25

Day 24 ~ Favorite eco-friendly thing to do.

This is a thing that is very important to me. I was eco-friendly almost from birth. We were raised to respect our planet and not to be wasteful. I can remember being very young and reusing things over and over, not because we couldn't afford new, but because it was the right thing to do.

My favorite eco-friendly thing is re-purposing something. I really love taking and old object and making something new from it, either something useful of decorative. Our house is full of things that have been found and saved and made new. And I am very careful to recycle everything, and I do mean everything we can not reuse in one way or another!!

Day 25 ~ Ideal day of "me time."

I have several ideal days I would love to have. One of them is just me alone, but the other is me time with my husband. I would love a day where I do not have to be concerned with who is cooking what and when, laundry, cleaning, taking care of 2 dogs, answering the phone & more. To have a day just of total quiet and relaxation would be wonderful. I could use it to be crafty and creative and just enjoy myself. And to include my husband in a day like this would be nice too. We get so few days where we are truly alone that it would be a me day for me, because I'll admit that I want him all to myself more than I get him now. As a Pastor he is on call 24/7 and people are needing him all the time. So I guess I have a mixture of "me time" in my life!!

Something For Your Funny Bone This Monday Morning!

Just found this and I had to share it with you. It made me snicker and I needed that this morning!!

Hope you have an amazing week!!!

Lucy Come Home ~ A Book Review

 Book Info
About the book:

Lucy Come Home
 by Dave and Neta Jackson

Fifteen-year-old Cindy worked long days beside her migrant worker family in Michigan's sugar beet fields in the early 1940s -- the "war years" -- until she met a dashing young man from a traveling carnival, bringing some joy and fun into her hard-scrabble life. But a tragic twist of fate -- and a dead field boss-- sent the two young people on the run, leaving behind family and everything she'd ever known.

Lucy Tucker, the crotchety old bag lady from the popular Yada Yada House of Hope series, is a veteran of Chicago streets and not about to give up her independence, even as she approaches her 80th birthday.

Until, that is, a young displaced woman with her gentle aging mother and a dog named Dandy seem to need her -- unsettling the secretive Lucy, who doesn't let anyone get too close. But just when it seems her past is catching up with her to bring her in out of the cold... Lucy disappears again. How these two tales intersect and intertwine between past and present gradually shines light into the dark corners of Lucy's murky past. But... why won't Lucy come home?

{What I thought about the book!!}

Reading this book was a nice change for me. It didn't quite fit in with the majority of the fiction books I read. I enjoyed the change immensely! The chapters were done in a way where you bounced back and forth from the past to the present. It helped weave together for the reader the life of Lucy, the 80 year old homeless woman in Chicago.

For me it was a sweet reminder that every one of us has a story to tell and every one of us has something to give to others around us. It is surprising who we can learn from and where we can learn it. Gabby learns that in this novel. This is an wonderful extension of the Yada Yada  novels and you will recognize things in it if you are familiar with them.

I can't say that Lucy is one of my favorite characters, but  she grows on you. She has a temperament that kinda gets to you, but after learning about  her life you realize why. She is tossed into some unusual situations at a young age. She had to learn on the run and it toughened her up considerably. After reading this book I don't think any reader could go away without thinking twice when they look at a homeless person. It will make you want to know why they are living the way they are and what brought them to that point.

I think you would enjoy reading this book. Just keep in mind that some of it is written in the first person. I know my oldest son has a hard time with that and i love to warn people ahead of time.

I received a copy of the book from Dave & Neta Jackson through Litfuse for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way other than receiving a copy of the book. All opinions expressed here are my own!

Summer Blog Challenge ~ Days 19, 20, 21, 22, & 23

Ugh!! You would think I could keep up with this, but it seems I am perpetually behind on it. So bear with  my catching up today.

Day 19 ~ Something you are proud of from the last few days.

I had little trouble at all thinking about this one. I know exactly the answer, driving for 2 hours on our trip Thursday. That may not seem like a big deal to most of you , but since I have not driven since December of last year until now it's a big deal to me. I love to drive and not being able to for such a long time was hard. I loved being behind the wheel again. I am looking forward to even more driving now!

Day 20 ~ Photo of you as a child.

This picture was taken of me when I was between 18 & 24 months. It's my Mom's favorite picture of me as a kid.

Day 21 ~ Most recent words of wisdom you have heard that stuck with you.

I know some of you are going to think this is strange but the thing that has stuck with me the most lately is Shop At Home First. It sounds strange doesn't it? But what it means is before you go out and buy something you think you need is there anything you already have at home, and may have forgotten about, that would work just as well as what you want to buy? I can't tell you how much money this has saved me!!

Day 22 ~ When I was a kid, what did I want to be when I grew up?

Easy, a wife an mom!! Seriously, deep inside all I ever wanted to be was a wife and mom. I grew up in a time though when women were supposed to break free and become something more. You were supposed to focus on having a career to "define" who you were. So I trained and studied to be a Psychologist. NOT what I wanted at all!! I really wanted nothing more than to take care of a husband and kids and my home. So it was tough on me because society was pushing one thing and my insides were screaming  that wasn't for me. But I am thankful that most of my adult life I have been able to be exactly what I always wanted to be, a wife and mom. Of course I am still not sure if I am grown up yet, so who knows what the future may hold. LOL!!

Day 23 ~ Favorite blog post you've written before this challenge.

My favorite post is one from long ago, back when I was posting about my stamping hobby and my life. I hope you enjoy reading it. I may just have to try and post a few more of my stamping and art projects. it has been a while and I do love to be creative!

So tell me what did you think? Be honest, I can take it!!

Dry Idea AdvanceDry Giveaway!!!

A short while ago I was sent a sample bottle of Dry Idea AdvancedDry in Powder Fresh scent. Purex Insiders sent it to me and asked me to review the product and let them and you know what I thought about it. Let me tell you I am a deodorant little snob!! I admit it. There have been only certain brands I have used for a while now and trying a new one was not something I was relishing doing. But try I did and I am glad to share the results with you.

First they said that it was fast drying. Nothing is worse than my underarm feeling all wet and ucky from anything including deodroant. Okay well maybe a few things are worse, but it is pretty dog gone uncomfortable. Well Dry Idea AdvancedDry really doe dry fast. I was extremely pleased with it.

Also I am not a big fan of any kind of product I use having a strong scent except my perfume. I have certain perfumes I love to wear and I don't want any of my beauty products interfering with that scent. The Powder Fresh scent of the Dry Idea does not overpower my perfume in any way. And even if I don't wear perfume you don't have this "I just moved and you can smell my deodorant" smell, and I think you know what I am talking about.

Here are some facts about the product:

~ comes in Regular, Unscented and Powder Fresh
~ It is a silicone-based formula
~ It is hypo-allergenic
~ It contains vitamin E

This formulation put the dry in Dry Idea. It contains no water for a drier application. It's time released for longer lasting odor protection and fragrance.

Now I will be honest with you and tell you that I liked the way it worked in keeping me dry all day long. Even on a few days when it was beastly hot and I had lots to do that just made me sweat like crazy, it still worked! But...you knew that was coming, I am not going to replace the kind I normally use. Call me an underarm snob if you will. I will recommend it to you though. It works great!! So I suggest you give it a try.

I also suggest yhat you enter the giveaway they are having right now.  Dry Idea is hosting a Sweepstakes with $1000 in Prizes. There is a $500 Grand Prize and 10 $50 second prizes!!

Summer Blog Challenge ~ Days 16, 17, 18

We had a very nice weekend and were busy the whole time. Saturday we had a church Father's Day Picnic. It was so much fun. Lots of people, lots of food and lots of games! But man we tired afterwards!! Sunday we had church in the morning and evening as usual, but in the afternoon we had a simple meal at home, my husband's choice. It was nice just to have the four of us for the day. But because we were so busy I got behind again. Ugh!!

Day 16 ~ Fitness guru or couch potato? Talk about your fitness habits.

Up until the first part of this year I was a bit of a couch potato. Not a total one, but I wouldn't say I had a regular exercise program or fitness program at all. But since the first part of this year that has changed. I am by far NOT a fitness guru, but I am doing a lot more to get myself back into shape and healthy. I am not so concerned about the shape part as I am the healthy part. Being healthy and staying that way is really important to me!!

Day 17 ~ 3 things you are proud of about your personality.

Saying I am proud of myself is not something I do. So this is a little hard for me. I think one of the things would have to be my slightly obsessive compulsive tendencies. Yep they can be positive sometimes! I am an organizer and very good at it. I can see the whole picture of what has to be accomplished and all the steps on how to get there. It frustrates some of my friends and encourages them in the same breath. If they need to reorganize their furniture in their house and can't see how to do it they call me. If they are planning a big party and need to know what has to be done when, they call me. There are two downsides to this part of my personality though. I can become obsessive about little details that really don't mean anything and it can get in my way. The other is even though I see the whole picture and all the steps to get there sometimes I become overwhelmed and freeze up. All those details just become too much for me. So I have to try and stay pretty balanced in my life or it can get away from me.

A second personality trait I have that I would put to the top is being mostly positive. I tend to have a pretty good outlook on life and can find joy in little things. I laugh easy and I enjoy too may things to let too much pull me down. Being positive has really helped me in a lot of situations. I won't say I have not had my down times, because I have! We all get them, but I don't stay there too long.

The third things I guess would be my bubblyness. That's how my friends describe it. Sometimes I am not sure what they mean by it, but I do know it comes from being outgoing and happy. The joy I find in life just tends to spill out and I have to share it. It also makes it easy for them to figure out when I am not feeling good or I am down.

See I told you it is hard for me. My friends would give you a whole different list, but those are the ones I see the most in myself. I'm not good at this kind of sharing.

Day 18 ~ A recipe you love.

Ugh!! I love to cook so which one do I choose??? Well I am known for my cheesecakes so I guess this one would be right up there near the top! I sell this in my area to people for $20 each!! It is yummy and so not good for you!! LOL!!

White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Cheesecake

Crust
1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
or 20 crumbled Oreo cookies (filling removed)
1/3 cup margarine, melted

Cheesecake
1/2 cup raspberry preserves
1/4 cup water
4 8-ounce pkgs. cream cheese
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
5 eggs
4 ounces white chocolate, chopped into chunks

Optional Garnish
2 ounces shaved white chocolate
whipped cream

1. Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Place a large pan or oven-safe skillet
filled with about 1/2-inch of water into the oven while it preheats. This
will be your water bath.

2. Combine the raspberry preserves with 1/4 cup water in a medium
microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 1 1/2 minutes on high in your microwave. Stir
until smooth. Strain to remove the raspberry seeds (toss 'em out), then let
the strained preserves sit to cool, put the bowl in the refrigerator
until later.

3. Measure 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs (or crush 20 Oreo cookie
wafers -- with the filling scraped out -- in a resealable plastic bag) into
a medium bowl. Mix in 1/3 cup melted margarine. Press the crumb into a
9-inch spring form pan that has been lined on the bottom and side with
parchment paper. Use the bottom of a drinking glass to press the crumb
mixture flat into the bottom of the pan and about 2/3 the way up the side.
Wrap a large piece of foil around the bottom of the pan to keep the
cheesecake in the water bath. Put the crust in your freezer until the
filling is done.

4. Use an electric mixer to combine the cream cheese with the sugar, sour
cream, and vanilla. Mix for a couple minutes or until the ingredients are
smooth and creamy. Be sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl. Whisk the
eggs in a medium bowl and then add them to the cream cheese mixture. Blend
the mixture just enough to integrate the eggs.

5. Remove the crust from the freezer and sprinkle 4 ounces of white
chocolate chunks onto the bottom of the crust. Pour half of the cream cheese
filling into the crust. Drizzle the raspberry preserves over the entire
surface of the filling. Use a butter knife to swirl the raspberry into the
cream cheese. Just a couple passes is fine, you don't want to blend the
raspberry and cream cheese together too much. Pour the other half of the
filling into the crust.

6. Carefully place the cheesecake into the water bath in the oven. Bake for
12 minutes at 475 degrees, then turn the oven down to 350 degrees and bake
for 50 to 60 minutes or until the top of the cheesecake turns a light brown
or tan color. Remove the cheesecake from the oven to cool. When the
cheesecake is cool, use the foil from the bottom to cover the cheesecake and
chill it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.

7. Before serving, sprinkle the entire top surface of cheesecake with 2
ounces of shaved white chocolate. I also use dark chocolate for this. It looks pretty.
To serve, slice the cheesecake into 12 equal portions. Use a very thin knife to do this. Wipe the blade between cuts. Apply a pile of canned whipped cream to the top of each slice and serve.

Makes 12 servings

Summer Blog Challenge ~ Day 15

Today we are supposed to post a photo we took and are proud of. I am not the best of photographers, but I do appreciate good photography. So one photo I took I particularity like is of a coleus plant in Warsaw, IN. It was covered with cobwebs and the webs had dew in them. It was beautiful!!

Summer Blog Challenge ~ Day 14

Ugh!! I completely forgot about this yesterday. I guess we are allowed once or twice having days get away from us.

Day 14 ~ Give your followers 15 tips to get trough life.

Wow could this be a subjective thing. Getting through life is so different for each of us. But I can give it a try by giving just some basic things we all need.

#1 ~ Don't take things too seriously. I learned this a long time ago. When I try to remember people don't always mean what they say and that things are not near as bad as I may think they are, life goes a lot easier.

#2 ~ Watch for the simple blessings. Way too often we don't notice the beautiful and simple blessings that come into our lives. Look for them purposely. Expect them! They are there whether you notice them or not. When was the last time you sat and watched a bee buzzing around some flowers? What an amazing creature that bee is. Take time to notice, because that bee blesses you by pollinating the plants you love.

#3 ~ Tell the people you love that you love them often. I can't begin to emphasize how important this one is. Most of us know that our loved ones love us, but don't you appreciate hearing it, even from your good friends? Well as much as you appreciate it, say it in return or better yet before they do.

#4 ~ Take time out to read. This is something that many people just don't make the time for. Reading can really relax your mind and thoughts. It can also keep your brain working well. It stimulates things up there that can help you with the rest of the day. I make it a goal each year to read at least 30 books. Sometimes I fall short, other times I read more. But I always take time to read and my brain thanks me for it!! I'm up to 12 this year so far.

#5 ~ Give hugs often. I grew up in a very non-touchy family. We just didn't hug that often. When I grew up I determined to change that for my kids. Now I can't say that we hug all the time, but my boys who are grown do not cringe when I try to give them a hug. And sometimes they still come over to me and seek one out for themselves. Hugs are important and they just feel good!!

#6 ~ Find a creative outlet. God gave us a creative side and it needs to be used. I love finding time to just make something in my craft room. Sometimes it may just be a card or a page in a scrapbook. Other times it might be a full blown work of art. But when I get creative I feel good and alive. We all have it in us. I have a friend who is really creative with food and I love what she does. It's part of who she is. So find something you love and create!!

#7 ~ Keep a journal. For years I have kept a series of journals. I call them my faith journals. They chronicle my walk with God. I can see where I was and where I have come from to where I am today. Reading back over them when I am going through a rough period in my life really helps remind me of how I have been through tough times before and I can make it through the current one.

#8 ~ Love unconditionally. This can be hard at times, but loving without any strings attached gives you so much freedom and it gives freedom to the people you love. They can be who they really are and don't have to feel like they need to perform for you to get that love. I grew up with a Dad who expected me to be and do the way he wanted me to. I tried so hard to get his approval and love and never quite met his expectations. Too many strings attached. So love without condition!!

#9 ~ Don't grow up completely! Oooh this is important. We adults forget sometimes what it is to be a kid and how to have fun. We're too uptight! Sometimes it's fun to just cut loose and be silly. When was the last time you laughed till you cried or your sides hurt? Try and remember what it was like to be a kid and it makes those generational gaps get a lot smaller. Plus it is really therapeutic to just have some good old fashioned fun!

#10 ~ Live with what makes you comfortable and not with the current fad. I am by far not someone who keeps up with having to do and be a part of all the latest trends and fads. Even though my last name is Jones I certainly don't keep up with them!! There are certain styles of clothing, furniture, colors, all kinds of things I just feel more comfortable around and often they are not what is currently "in". I don't care!! I know what I like and I am going to live with that. It makes me a better and happier person to be with. So live with what you love!

#11 ~ Be transparent. Don't you hate to be around someone who you know is hiding something or just not being themselves. It's uncomfortable. I'm not saying to bear your soul to anybody or everybody, but don't be afraid to be who you are at the moment. If you are sad, be sad. If you are happy, be happy. It doesn't mean you have to go to extremes, but don't tuck it away in the recesses of you. If people ask me how I am doing I tell them. I don't give them the pat answer, "I'm fine". I give them  the truth like, I've had better days, but I'll be okay, or fair to midland. I'll even say fantastic if that is how I feel. Don't be afraid to be who you are.

#12 ~ Write a letter once in a while. That means you have to put down the phone and no texting, shut off the computer and get out a pen and a piece of paper. There is nothing like getting a hand written note from a friend. It really makes you take the time to think about what you are writing. Receiving something in the mail that someone took the time to write and send you is special. Besides I love seeing the handwriting of my friends.

#13 ~ Laugh often. I know I read somewhere how important laughter is, but I don't remember the exact figures. I do know that it does help your blood pressure. That's a good thing. Laugh at yourself and the silly things you do. We all do them!! Laugh with others, not at them, with them. Laugh at the crazy antics you pet does. Gracious my Newfoundland keeps me in stitches!! Laugh with your kids and the goofy jokes they tell or crazy cartoons that make them giggle. Just laugh!!

#14 ~ Learn to say NO! Oh do I wish I had learned this many years ago. It would have saved me a lot of extra time, energy and grief. We don't have to be all to everyone. In fact we don't have to be all to anyone! It's okay to say no sometimes, even to our family. We just can't fit it all in. None of us is a super woman. No matter how hard we try we just can't be. All you do is make yourself miserable which in turn makes everyone else around you miserable. So just say NO sometimes. They'll get over it. It's good for them and you!

#15 ~ Find God!! I can't even begin to tell you how much of a difference this made in my life. When I found God my life made a complete turn around. Years I spent trying to feel important and significant, when all along I already was. I just didn't know it!!  Knowing who I really am in this world is a very peaceful thing and a very energizing thing. I am so thankful that I have my faith and all that comes with it!

I don't know how profound any of these might be. One thinks that giving tips to get through life must be profound usually. I do know that these are things that have helped me. They are also helping my kids who are two pretty well-rounded and happy guys. So you can take what I said with a grain of salt or you can take it seriously, your choice. But it's not a bad thing to think about once in a while.

So what tip would you share?

Growing Up Ziglar Book Review - One Of The Best Books I Have Read In A Long Time!

About the book:

Julie Ziglar Norman often says her dad is the king of 'doing life right' and she is the poster child for 'doing life wrong.'

For over a quarter of a century she lived every day with regret, shame, guilt, and depression. But she was the daughter of the motivator'smotivator, Zig Ziglar, and knew that she needed to be positive. So she gathered up all her negative self-talk and squashed it deep down inside where it couldn't ruin the bright and practiced smile she presented to the world.

'People might assume Zig Ziglar's daughter would automatically grow up to have a positive attitude,' Julie says. 'For a large portion of my life, I was just positive I was miserable!'

Her powerful and heartwarming story will move readers to laughter and tears. Mostly it will renew their faith in God's power to redeem all the wrong choices and bring them full circle to hope and healing. Julie urges readers not to settle for okay when God has true joy waiting for them. She shares tools to equip them to make the changes needed to find true freedom in every area of life.
About Julie:

Litfuse
Julie Ziglar Norman is the daughter of Zig Ziglarand for 20 years has been his personal editor. With a background in sales and business management, Julie has become a dynamic internationalmotivational speaker. She lives in Texas with her husband, Jim, and continues the Ziglar legacy of encouragement.

What I thought about the book!!

I have to tell you this has been one of the best books for me to read right now. Being in full-time ministry as a Pastor's wife I deal with hurting people all the time. Often I am stumped at what to do or what to say. Reading Julie's book gave me tremendous insight to how I can help more effectively. I think one of the best things she said in the book was a quote from her Mom, "Julie, as long as  you insist on being the victim, I can't help you." (pg 25)

That statement was something I knew and thought about often, but to hear it in use the way it was there helped me so much. I know how to approach some hard and painful situations with a more serious and tender heart as well as one determined to truly help and not be a crutch!

Julie has a wonderful way of telling it like it is and was without getting graphic or dramatic. She just gives you the facts and the consequences of them and best of all how she conquered those situations in her life with God's help. I normally read books and then pass them along to others so they can enjoy and benefit from them, but this is one book I started taking little notes in almost immediately. It will be on my shelves for a long time as a good reference book for helping people in the future.  It is a wonderful read, simple to get and very thought provoking! I loved it!!
